      Description

QA Level 3 First Aid at Work Course (QCF)

For your information: This course is a legal requirement for many UK businesses.

      Who is it for?
For high risk companies in need of a First Aider.
This course is for anyone interested in becoming a First Aider in the work place, or if your First Aid Assessment requires a member of your staff to be trained to this level. This 3 day course is more intensive than the 1 day Emergency First Aid course, so in turn offers greater underpinning knowledge and practical ability for the student.

      Duration: 3 Day Course

      What you will learn?

      • Understanding the role of the First Aider, including use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions.
      • Understanding the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures.
      • Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
      • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure.
      • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
      • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock.

      • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.
      • Recognising the presence of major illness and applying general first aid principles in its management.

In addition, candidates should be able to demonstrate the correct first aid management of:

      • Soft tissue injuries.
      • Injuries to bones including suspected spinal injuries.
      • Chest injuries.
