• DRAB - Put on gloves to protect you against their blood.
• Sit or lay the casualty down.
• Examine the wound, look for foreign objects, don't remove them but pad around them with bandages.
• Elevate the wound above the level of the heart.
• Apply direct pressure to the wound. If there is an embedded object, place pressure around the wound.
